LFD's Special Operations Team is based at Fire Station 2 located at 708 N Eastman Rd. This team consists of 24 paid members and 12 nonpaid members. The team responds to various Hazardous Material Incidents all around the East Texas Region as well as participation in national deployments as they arise. Training Chief Curtis Shaw oversees the Special Ops Team and all of their responses.
