LFD proudly opened the greatly anticipated New Fire Station # 4 on April 30th, 2007. A small ceremony was held with Mayor Dean, Members of the City Council, Interim City Manager, Chuck Ewings, as well as other City Directors & Staff in attendance.
The new station is located at 711 George Richey Rd in the Springhill Community. The station currently houses Engine 4, Reserve Medic 4, and a 3 man crew rotating every third day.
Following the brief reception the Retirement of Fire Chief Richard Lazarus was also annoucned. Chief Lazarus has been with LFD since 2000 and helped the department to grow in many aspects.
Station 4 was previously located 24 South High Street which assisted Station 3 in coverage of South Longview. Station 3 is currently in the construction stage of a large expansion which will more efficiently cover the developing area.
