History
Longview Fire Department has been serving the City of Longview since 1881. It was a volunteer department with one fire station and 35 volunteer members.

Today, Longview Fire Department serves an area population of approximately 78,000 people from 8 fire stations with 163 members department wide. Apparatus includes 8 engines, 2 ladder trucks, 1 heavy rescue / hazardous materials truck, 4 MICU ambulances. LFD utilizes the Special Operations Team and Scuba Dive Team when necessary.

We pride ourselves with the aggressive nature of LFD. We strive to have the latest technology available in order to provide efficient customer service to the City of Longview.

Longview is nestled in the heart of deep East Texas, undeniably the most beautiful part of the finest state in the nation. Located on I-20, just an hour from Shreveport, LA to the east and two hours from Dallas, TX to the west, Longview is perfectly positioned for virtually anything. UT Tyler Longview Center and Kilgore Junior College provide opportunities to further education to the greater East Texas area.
