Longview Fire Marshal's Office

The Department of Fire Prevention is charged with implementation, administration and enforcement of the fire code for the City of Longview .   It is required to maintain records of approvals, variances, inspections, statistics, notices, orders, and fires occurring within its jurisdiction.   It is responsible for investigating the cause, origin and circumstances of any fire, explosion or other hazardous condition.   It is responsible for public fire and safety education to the citizens of Longview, Texas.  

The fire prevention efforts of the division are based upon four general categories:
