The purpose of fire lanes is to provide access for FIRE, POLICE AND MEDICAL PERSONNEL in the event of an emergency. It is the responsibility of the Owner/Occupant of a business or facility to maintain fire lanes located on their property.

Fire lanes as required by City Ordinance, 40-116 and the 2003 International Fire Code 502 to meet the following requirements:

•  6" red striping with 4" white lettering " Fire Lane - Tow Away Zone " every 20' .

•  When the striping joins a curb, the face and top of curb should also be painted.
